These Terms set out the conditions for using “Comachi” (the “Service”), a manga-making support service provided by 株式会社架空線(the “Company”). Everyone who uses the Service (a “User”) uses it on the basis that they have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Beta Provision)

  1. The Service is currently offered as a closed beta. The Company does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or continuity of the Service.
  2. The Company may change the features of the Service or suspend it. Where a change or suspension involves deleting User data, the Company will, except in an emergency, endeavor to give prior notice within the Service or by email.

Article 2 (Accounts)

  1. The Company may make registration for the Service invitation-only. As a rule, each person may use one account.
  2. Users are responsible for managing their own login credentials. The Company is not liable for damage caused by inadequate management of login credentials, use by a third party, or similar, except where the Company is at fault.
  3. If a User is a minor, please use the Service only after obtaining the consent of a legal representative such as a parent or guardian.

Article 3 (Rights in User Content)

  1. The Company claims no rights in the manga that Users create or enter in the Service (including ideas, settings, plots, scripts, storyboards, generated images, etc.; the “User Content”). Any rights arising in User Content belong to the User or to the rightful rights holder.
  2. The Company handles User Content only to the extent necessary to operate the Service (storage, backup, display, and running AI processing).
  3. Content generated by AI may not give rise to copyright under applicable law, or may resemble existing copyrighted works. The Company makes no guarantee on these points.
  4. Whether free or paid, Users may freely use User Content, including for commercial purposes. However, Users must comply with third-party rights and with the terms and policies of the AI providers referred to in Article 5, paragraph 2.

Article 4 (Publishing Manga)

  1. Users may publish their manga at their own discretion. Published manga and author page information (handle, display name, bio, external links, and icon image) become viewable by anyone.
  2. Users grant the Company a royalty-free license to use (including reproducing, resizing, and displaying) published manga and author page information to the extent necessary for listing, list display, and thumbnail creation in the Service, and for preview display on social media and in search engines (OGP, etc.). This license ends when the User unpublishes the manga. However, deleting previews and the like already stored by external services may be outside the Company's control.
  3. If the Company determines that published manga may violate these Terms or applicable law, it may unpublish or delete it without prior notice to the User.
  4. Reports of rights infringement or other problems concerning published manga are accepted at the contact point in Article 15.

Article 5 (AI Features)

  1. When you use the AI features of the Service, your input and the related manga data are sent to external AI providers (Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI) for processing.
  2. Users are responsible for checking, using, and publishing generated content, and the terms and policies of each AI provider apply separately.

Article 6 (Paid Services)

  1. In addition to the range available free of charge, the Service offers monthly paid plans and additional credits (together, the “Paid Services”). The contents and prices of the Paid Services are shown on the purchase screen within the Service. Prices are charged in Japanese yen (JPY).
  2. Payment for Paid Services is made through the payment processor designated by the Company (Stripe), by credit card or by other methods determined by the Company.
  3. Paid plans renew automatically every month, counting from the date of application, and the fee for the next month is charged on the renewal date.
  4. Users may cancel a paid plan at any time from the settings screen. Even after cancellation, the User may use the paid plan until the last day of the billing period concerned.
  5. The point at which a change of paid plan takes effect is shown on the change procedure screen.
  6. Except as otherwise provided by law, fees already paid are not refunded (nor are pro-rated refunds given). However, if credits are consumed due to a failure or the like attributable to the Company, the Company will respond by granting the equivalent credits.
  7. The Company may change the prices of the Paid Services. In that case, it will announce the change within the Service at least 30 days before the effective date, and the new price will apply to existing paid plans from the first renewal date on or after the effective date.
  8. If a User is a minor, the prior consent of a legal representative such as a parent or guardian is required to purchase Paid Services.
  9. The terms of sale for the Paid Services are as set out in these Terms and in the “Disclosure under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions”.

Article 7 (Credits)

  1. Credits are units within the Service that are used to use its AI features. They are consumed according to the type of AI feature and the amount of processing.
  2. Credits granted every month with a paid plan (“Monthly Credits”) expire at the time of the next grant and do not carry over to the following month.
  3. Credits that a User purchases (“Additional Credits”) are valid for six months from the date of purchase. Additional Credits past their expiry date expire.
  4. Credits are consumed starting with Monthly Credits, then Additional Credits, starting with those that expire soonest.
  5. Purchasing Additional Credits requires a paid plan subscription. Even after a paid plan is cancelled, Additional Credits are retained until their expiry date, and can be used if the User re-subscribes within that period.
  6. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash or other property or refunded, and cannot be transferred or lent to others.

Article 8 (Prohibited Acts)

Users must not do any of the following.

  1. Acts that violate laws and regulations or public order and morals
  2. Acts that infringe the copyright, trademark rights, portrait rights, privacy, or other rights of third parties (including entering a third party's work into the AI features without the rights holder's permission and using it for modification or generation)
  3. Publishing obscene expression, child pornography, expression that sexualizes children, excessively violent expression, or content that constitutes discrimination or defamation
  4. Impersonating another person or registering false information
  5. Improperly manipulating figures such as hearts (♥) and view counts
  6. Placing excessive load on the Service's servers or network, mass access by automated tools, reverse engineering, or unauthorized access
  7. Transferring, lending, or selling invitations or accounts to a third party
  8. Providing benefits to, or otherwise cooperating with, anti-social forces
  9. Any other act that the Company reasonably judges to be inappropriate

Article 9 (Suspension)

If a User violates these Terms, or is found to be an anti-social force, the Company may, without prior notice, unpublish manga, suspend use of the Service, or delete the account.

Article 10 (Data Storage and Backup)

User Content is stored on the Company's servers and, to prevent loss, is replicated as a backup to a private GitHub repository to which access is limited to the Company. Backups are currently stored unencrypted. The Company will endeavor to take backups, but does not guarantee complete preservation of data. Please regularly save your important manga to your own device using the export feature on the settings screen.

Article 11 (Withdrawal)

  1. Users may withdraw at any time from the settings screen. On withdrawal, the account and all User Content are deleted immediately, and backups and usage logs are also deleted within 30 days of the withdrawal date.
  2. If a User with a paid plan withdraws, the paid plan is cancelled and unused credits expire. Fees already paid are not refunded. However, records of transactions that must be retained by law are kept for the required period.

Article 12 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for damage incurred by Users in connection with the Service, except where the Company acts with intent or gross negligence. However, this does not apply where the contract between the User and the Company concerning the Service constitutes a consumer contract under the Consumer Contract Act.
  2. In the case of the proviso to the preceding paragraph, for damage incurred by the User through the Company's non-performance of obligations or tort caused by ordinary negligence (negligence other than gross negligence) on the Company's part, the Company will compensate only for direct and ordinary damage actually incurred, up to a limit of JPY 10,000.

Article 13 (Changes to These Terms)

  1. The Company may change these Terms pursuant to Article 548-4 of the Civil Code of Japan.
  2. When making a change, the Company will announce the changed content and its effective date within the Service at least 14 days before the effective date. However, this does not apply to minor changes that are not disadvantageous to Users.

Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive agreed court of jurisdiction of first instance.
